The faux design

Telling Stories With Faux Flowers & Gifts

Lorraine Stone has over twenty years of experience as a fresh flower designer. She now brings her knowledge, experience, expertise, and love of flowers, colour, and design to faux flower arranging.

Whilst it can be fun to design with unnatural colours and oversized flowers, she tries to work with faux flowers that mimic nature as far as possible and shy away from oddly coloured flowers or shapes and sizes.

The look we’re after is faux flowers and arrangements with that freshly picked, natural look…the subtlety and beauty of the real thing, minus the care and short-lived aspects of fresh blooms… flowers that last and last!

Caring for Faux Flowers

All that is required is an occasional dusting.

Gently shake the dust off the stems outdoors or use a blow-dryer in a cool/cold setting.

To give faux flowers a fresh new look, gently rinse in tepid soapy water, dish soap is ideal.

Spread your stems out on a towel to air dry, then reassemble your arrangement.

Keep out of strong sunlight as colours may fade and try to minimise handling the blossoms as their edges may begin to ravel.

Trim with sharp scissors where necessary.
